Welcome to my Teaching Portfolio

Hello and welcome!  My name is Lindsey Bosko and I am completing my fourth year of graduate studies at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC.  My love of mathematics bloomed at an early age.  My mom cites a visit to the doctor’s office where I occupied myself by counting ceiling tiles in the waiting room.  “24 tiles,” I proudly concluded.  I can also remember my second grade teacher giving individual achievement awards to all her students at the end of the school year.  Mine was ‘Math Whiz.’  I did not become infatuated with teaching until I entered college and began tutoring.  I volunteered at a middle school and also assisted fellow college student with mathematics.  I continued to follow a path of teaching and earned my certification as a secondary educator in mathematics.  I felt a strong pull to pursue higher levels of mathematics by attending graduate school, but never lost my love of teaching.  This led me to the Preparing the Professoriate program at NC State this year.  I have thoroughly enjoyed the opportunities afforded to me by this program.  I was paired with a senior faculty mentor, taught an upper-level mathematics course to math majors, attended numerous seminars with graduate students in other fields, and prepared this teaching portfolio.  Enjoy!
